NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police have identified a man who was found stabbed to death on a hiking trail on Long Island early Thursday morning.
Benjamin Flores-Mendez, 39, of Port Jefferson Station, was found dead on the Greenway Trail, near Clifton Place in Port Jefferson Station around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Suffolk County police said.
Flores-Mendez, who had a stab wound to his body, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
No one had been arrested in connection with his death as of Friday. An investigation is ongoing.
