Jayden Daniels arrived on the national stage on Monday night, taking down the Bengals by completing 21 of 23 passes while throwing for two touchdowns and running in another.
For Boomer and Gio, it was hard to watch the rookie quarterback’s dominant showing and not think about the trouble the Giants could be in for years to come.
“You’re gonna be seeing him for the next 10 years,” Gio said.
Boomer saw a quarterback that is already looking noticeably better than he did in his NFL debut two weeks ago, and could be a repeat of what C.J. Stroud did as a rookie last season. The Giants are still looking for their franchise quarterback, and unfortunately, a division rival found theirs in the form of a quarterback that Big Blue had public interest in acquiring themselves.
“His arm, and the velocity on these throws, and now he’s getting more accurate...it’s a dangerous combination, man,” Boomer said. “Jayden Daniels has taken a major step forward. Each week, he’s gotten a little better...that game was, standalone, maybe the greatest rookie game I’ve ever seen.
“If that performance is indicative of a long-term, consistent performance from their quarterback, it’s gonna be a long, long time before the Giants are beating them.”
