Knicks sign former Sixers big man Guerschon Yabusele to two-year deal: Report

The Knicks have reportedly bolstered their frontcourt depth, as ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reports that New York has signed Guerschon Yabusele.

Per Charania, the deal is for two years and $12 million, with a player option in the second season.

Yabusele, one of the best big men left on the free agent market, helps the Knicks to continue to fortify their bench, which began with the reported signing of Jordan Clarkson on Monday.

The former Sixer averaged 11 points per game last season, grabbing 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep. The former 16th overall pick averaged 3.9 3-points attempts per game in what was his first NBA season in which he played over 50 games. The 29-year-old played overseas after limited time with the Celtics from 2017 to 2019.

The reported contract would put the Knicks into the second apron of the salary tax threshold.
