Sal rips Pacers for 'talking tough' against decimated Knicks roster

Sal has his concerns about the Knicks after two straight losses and more ominous injury news, but he still believes that New York can win the series, mainly because of the Knicks’ proven resolve and Sal’s lack of belief that Indiana has what it takes to finish the job.

“The Pacers talk tough and walk around with their chest out and Haliburton doing the finger wag, whatever it is that he’s doing. Yeah, real easy beating up on a team that’s really limited and you’re at home getting every freaking whistle with the crowd going nuts,” Sal said. “Let’s see you do that at The Garden where you coughed up two games.

“I don’t think they’re ‘it.’”

BT agrees that the Pacers are “soft,” but isn’t sure how the Knicks take the series with the injuries that continue to mount in the playoffs. But Sal believes Jalen Brunson will be able to pull out a couple more vintage performances despite battling a right foot injury, and the Knicks can still get it done.

“I think Brunson will bounce back…if Brunson is compromised, they have no shot,” Sal said. “But he came back from that injury in the second half in game two…even in game three, he did enough and they could have won that game.”
