WATCH: Aaron Judge nearly clears Yankee Stadium batters' eye with 53rd HR of season

The latest injury to the Yankees’ universe: the batters’ eye in center field is day to day after being absolutely blasted by Aaron Judge’s 53rd home run of the season Sunday.

Judge, batting in the third inning against Red Sox righty Kutter Crawford, fouled off a pitch on a huge cut before absolutely launching this dinger that just missed clearing the windows of the restaurant above Monument Park and bouncing into the center field terraces:

The two-run blast gave the Yankees a 4-0 lead at the time, and registered a 112.1 MPH exit velocity while traveling a projected 445 feet.

It also continues his assault on both his own AL and Yankees team home run record – his 53 are now nine shy of the 62 he hit in 2022 – and the Triple Crown; he is second to Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr. in average in the AL, trailing .333-.321 coming into Sunday, but his now 53 dingers lead the AL by a dozen over Anthony Santander’s 41, and his career-high 132 RBI now have him 25 ahead of Cleveland’s Jose Ramirez.

He paces all of MLB in both of those categories, and also entered Sunday atop the circuit in OBP, slugging, walks, total bases, and extra-base hits.
