For the 20th time in franchise history, the Yankees are American League East champions.

The Bombers sealed the deal with a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night, riding a solid start from Jameson Taillon and three RBI from the still-surging Gleyber Torres to earn the team’s first division title since 2019, and the second for manager Aaron Boone.

Aaron Judge seemed ready to celebrate after the game, hurrying into the visitor’s clubhouse and saying, “Don’t pop em without me!” to a nearby camera as he passed by.

With that, the party was on as the Yanks popped champagne and celebrated a regular season that started with a historic pace, hit the skids with a brutal and prolonged slump, and is now finishing with a very strong September that ensured the team would receive a bye and have home field in the ALDS.
