Thunder and PT want to celebrate Minnesota by sharing fun facts about the state with listeners on 102.9 The Wolf ... powered by Mr. Rooter Plumbing.

Target Field, Home of the Minnesota Twins, is today's Wolf Country Original!

The spectacular Target Field opened in the warehouse district of Minneapolis in 2010 and holds almost 40,000 fans. The stadium has hosted the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, along with various other events and concerts throughout the year when the Twins are out of town or out of season.

Target Field is the Twins' third baseball park in Minnesota - before, they played at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome and the Metropolitan Stadium. The idea to create a new stadium came about in 1994 when Carl Pohlad deemed the Metrodome an unfit place to play. The process to open Target Field then became 16 years in the making.

The construction of Target Field played a role in the revitalization of the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis. The stadium's location in this area has spurred development, including new restaurants, bars, and housing options, making it an attractive destination for residents and visitors alike.

A fan favorite feature of the ballpark is the homerun celebration, when the "shaking hands" logo of Minnie and Paul lights up in centerfield. The "shaking hands" logo was the Twins original logo from 1961-1981.

Let's go Target Field and let's go Twins!
