The tour announcement comes six months after Jackson shared with fans he’s been diagnosed with a chronic condition, CMT (Charcot-Marie-Tooth). According to a press release, the condition is a chronic neuropathy condition that “causes abnormalities in the nerves that supply the feet, legs, hands, and arms… affecting motor and sensory nerves.”
The trek is not labeled as a farewell tour, but with Jackson’s condition he says he is focused on enjoying the road while he is still able.
"I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could,” Jackson shared. “I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow. I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me."
