"Who is Katharine McPhee?"
On a recent episode of "Jeopardy," the classic “Before and After” category stumped all three contestants, including frontrunner Amy Schneider.
For those not familiar with the category, it combines two names into one phrase. Other answers in the category were "Modern Family Feud" and "Orange is the New Blackadder."
The TV series clue that stumped the contestants was framed as: "Spooky HBO show with references to H.P.'s works, with Katharine McPhee along as the singing nanny."
The answer? "What is Lovecraft Country Comfort?"
While it's one thing that none of the three contestants were able to guess it correctly, neither did McPhee, the actress and singer in the clue!
McPhee posted an Instagram story with a clip of the stumping moment and captioned it: “I wouldn't have even gotten this. Definitely would have missed this one.”
Last year, McPhee starred in the short-lived Netflix series, “Country Comfort,” as a country singer-turned-nanny.
While it may have just been a little social media fun for McPhee, there was a lot more at stake for current champ, Schneider.
Schneider recently became the third longest running contestant in “Jeopardy!” history, so the pressure was on. However, the “Lovecraft Country Comfort” misstep didn’t stop her from winning again – her 37th straight victory.
She was poised to tie Matt Amodio for the second-longest winning streak in the show's history, and was only $265,401 away from breaking his third-place monetary record of $1,518,601.
