The American Idol alum took to Twitter recently sharing a screenshot of a message from another woman expressing empathy in regards to a cheating scandal by Lauren’s boyfriend in 2019. Although Lauren redacted the name, all signs point to her former boyfriend, actor and comedian John Crist who was accused of sexual misconduct.
“To all the women who have sent me these messages, I see you,” Lauren posted with the screenshot. “I’m sorry you went through it as well. I wish I had spoken up for you all before now. I will find a way.”
Later that same day, Lauren tweeted that she was ready to speak her truth, planting to the idea that she will open up about the situation she’s remained tight-lipped about for so long.
The “Ladies in the ’90s” singer has received several encouraging replies from fans in response to her tweets who are ready to support her vulnerability.
Lauren dated Crist for several months in 2019 before revealing their break-up in September of the same year. Before dating Crist, Lauren was engaged to Alex Hopkins after six years of dating. The couple then announced in January 2019 they mutually decided to go their separate ways.
After a year of tough breakups, Lauren appeared on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, which she credits for helping her heal.
