“I sincerely apologize to the young lady and her family, this is unwanted publicity for her/them. This was an old video that was private and never meant to go public,” Nelly said in a statement to TMZ, referring to the woman involved in the video.

The private video was rapidly removed from social media. Nelly’s team believes that his account was hacked. They are now investigating the breach to make sure other personal information such as documents and passwords don’t surface online.

The explicit video leak comes about a week after the “Hot in Herre” rapper criticized Madonna’s look. Late last month, Madonna posted a sultry photo on Instagram to which Nelly commented: “Something’s should just be left covered up.” Nelly was later criticized for his comment.

Reportedly, Nelly has not responded to the previous backlash.
