Vermont Drivers Could Add Emojis to Their License Plates Soon!

The state of Vermont is attempting to pass a bill that would allow drivers to use emojis on their license plates instead of just letters and numbers. You may be surprised to find out that if the bill passes, Vermont wouldn’t be the first in the world.

Out in Queensland, Australia via PPS (Personalized Plates Queensland), you can add one of five emojis to your plate (face with tears of joy, smiling face with heart-shaped eyes, winking face, grinning face, smiling face with sunglasses).

According to the bill, it “proposes to create a new special registration plate with the choice of one six emojis” which would be in addition to the assigned numbers and letters from the DMV or the vanity plate selected by the registered owner.
