In addition to being the holiday's 50th anniversary, Earth Day 2020 is an opportunity to reflect on our relationship to the planet even amid the coronavirus pandemic.

To help your community and the environment, buy local from business in your area, who are less likely to transport products and whose scale permits them to make efficient use of land and goods.
Write a letter to your legislator

Coronavirus is at the forefront of everyone's minds, including lawmakers, who face difficult decisions about how best to bring their areas back to normal and help the economy rebound. But now is also a great time for constituents to write letters to their lawmakers, letting them know that addressing environmental issues are still a priority, even during stay-at-home orders.
Adopt a storm drain

Adopting a storm drain near you is a great way to get out and active while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Many cities offer these types of programs, through which volunteers keep drains free of trash, leaves and other debris year-round to prevent flooding or contamination.

Making a donation to a group that aligns with your environmental concerns or interests is a great way to get involved, especially if you lack the time or ability to get more actively involved in person. Whether you are interested making a one-time payments or setting up recurring donations, there are many green charities worth donating to, especially during the uncertain period of the period.
