Previous “The Bachelor” host Chris Harrison has up and down feelings about his time on the show.
Harrison hosted the reality dating show for 19 years before exiting in 2021.
Guesting on the “Trading Secrets” podcast, Harrison called his years on “The Bachelor” a “blessing and a curse.”
"The show was a blessing," he said. "I still look at this as a blessing in my life. It was hard at first, obviously, it wasn't immediate where I felt great about everything because what I went through was tumultuous. I don’t wish it on anybody."
Harrison touched on his defending of “The Bachelor” season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell’s past racist behavior, after which he was replaced as host.
He told the podcast the backlash after exiting the show was “horrifying on a lot of levels.”
“I knew I had to remove myself from what became a very toxic situation, and I did, and that was a very difficult situation," he said.
Looking back, Harrison is appreciative of his time on the dating show, but happy to have moved on.
"It was a blessing. It changed my life, but at the same time, I can also be grateful that I’m gone. That’s a relationship I don’t need to be in anymore because it wasn’t healthy," he said.
