After missing the last two weeks due to sickness, Kelly Clarkson returned to her judges chair on Monday night’s episode of The Voice, just in time for the first round of knockouts.

Joining Clarkson’s team for the week as a mentor was GRAMMY-nominated rapper, Snoop Dogg and his presence wasn’t the only thing bringing tears for Clarkson (but at least these were tears of joy).
"I’m more excited for me than you because I get to sit this close to him all day," Clarkson said to her team.
It didn’t take long for more emotion to really take hold as the first battle got underway between contestants Ryleigh Modig and Corey Ward. While Modig chose to perform Kings Of Leon's "Use Somebody," Ward made a bold decision to cover Clarkson's "Already Gone."
“What a way to kick-off knockouts” said judge Nick Jonas after the performances. “That just set the bar really, really high.”
Clarkson was quick to praise as well, saying “The coolest thing a songwriter can experience. I was like ‘well, he just killed my song in front of me.’ I’m like ‘oh, maybe that’s how that’s supposed to sound?’”
Although she expressed making a decision between the two talented contestants was “stressful,” Clarkson ultimately chose Ward. “That was hard for me, but when Corey came out singing my song better than me, how do you not pick that artist?”
Not to worry Ryleigh Modig fans. Every available coach hit their steal button for Modig, who ultimately decided to go with John Legend.
