Our favorite 2022 Super Bowl commercials featuring our favorite stars
We heard there was a sports game during this year's Super Bowl commercials
Commercials — normally a time to catch up on what you just watched, or refill your plate and drink — that is unless it’s Super Bowl Sunday, when one needn’t actually know the difference between a touchdown and a turnover because, let’s be real, the star-studded ads become an event unto themselves.
Listen to your favorite music now on Audacy curated for fans, by fans like Halftime Radio, and more!

In the past, you typically had to wait until game day to watch them all, but since we live in the digital age, most of this year’s offerings have already been released online — but we enjoy them all the same. That said, some commercials remain a surprise, and guess what, we're here to talk about them all.
John Legend for Headspace
Who cares if it aired pre-start time, thanks to Headspace sleepcast we can all FINALLY "sleep" with John Legend — well sleep-sleep not sleep-sleep ;)
Zendaya and André 3000 for Squarespace
Zendaya’s Sally is selling something and it’s not hidden in a suitcase. It’s seashells, and with the help of the website development platform Squarespace she’s able to take her business from the seashore to the internet and more. Narrated by André 3000 and inspired by the classic tongue twister, it’s cute and clever and if we’re keeping 100, we fully expect mermaid-inspired styles to start selling soon. Seriously — sea for yourself (sorry we had to).
Jennifer Coolidge, Trevor Noah, Nicholas Braun and Gwyneth Paltrow for Uber Eats
Uber Eats wanted to get across a message that it’s not just food that they deliver, but that doesn’t mean you need to “Eats’ it”. Helping them spread the message — Jennifer Coolidge, Trevor Noah, Nicholas Braun, and Gwyneth Paltrow who eat inedible items, from cat litter, diapers, to a candle and lightbulb. Point is — "Get your Uber Eats and Uber Don't Eats."
Larry David for FTX
Larry David might know what's up, but clearly, FTX does casting him In this hilarious commercial. In various historical mini-dramas, David dismisses the wheel, the fork, the toilet, the electric light bulb, the Walkman, and even the notion of American independence so obviously, cryptocurrency makes the list. Joking of course. “The next big thing is here, even if Larry can’t see it.”
Jim Carrey’s Cable Guy for Verizon
Jim Carrey doesn’t miss a beat reprising his role as deranged basic cable installer Ernie “Chip” Douglas from the '96 comedy The Cable Guy. Also, his scene parter, actress Geraldine Viswanathan, is from the movie Blockers, which is a legit hilarious movie nobody ever talks about. We’re here for anything Jim Carrey and as Verizon Wireless customers ourselves, we’re here for that as well.
Joel McHale and Ken Jeong for Planters Nuts
Joel McHale & Ken Jeong tear America apart over mixed nuts — yup that checks. Devotees of the hit TV show Community rejoice! The two stars came together, well actually the opposite to debate between the proper way to eat mixed nuts — all together or one at a time. How do you eat them?
Lindsay Lohan for Planet Fitness
Onetime Paparazzi magnet Lindsay Lohan is #FeelingFitacular as she attempts to put the past behind her. With cameos from Dennis Rodman, Danny Trejo, and William Shatner and by Jeopardy! all-star Buzzy Cohen this commercial was a straight-up touchdown (that means good right?)
Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson for Amazon Alexa
IRL married couple Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson live in a reality where Alexa can read your mind (well in the commercial). It’s funny, relatable and most importantly makes us extremely glad such world doesn't actually exist.
Austin Powers reunion for General Motors
This almost makes up for not having an Austin Powers movie for 20 years. General Motors nails it with nostalgia, bring back jokes, characters, and laughs. We’re extremely here for this one and honestly kinda starting to feel bad for Scott.
Jerod Mayo and Pete Davidson for Hellmann’s
Legendary linebacker Jerod Mayo is determined to “make taste, not waste,” and tackles anyone who dares to throw perfectly good food in the trash. And that includes the“very hittable” Pete Davidson.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek for BMW
What do Arnold Schwarzenegger's Zeus and Salma Hayek's Hera do when it's time to retire? Move to Palm Springs with their pet Peggy (Pegasus) of course, duh! And when suburban life gets too stressful for the ancient God of Greek mythology with lightning at his fingertips. His wife gets him an all-electric BMW iX, because, well, what else would she do?
Dolly Parton and Miley for T-Mobile
It’s giving Sarah McLachlan's SPCA commercial, but make it about 5G cell phones for T-Mobile with Dolly Parton. Sharing an uplifting message that inspires real-life goddaughter Miley Cyrus in another T-Mobile ad, which sees the former her leading an anthem about switching cell phone providers. While this two-parter ad isn't our #1 fave, hopefully it's persuasive enough to gain new customers for T-Mobes...
