You have to start somewhere! Elizabeth Hurley, 55, recently shared a throwback picture from her first bikini photo shoot, noting that she was “nervous” at the time.
The British actress posted a snap from her first-ever bikini photo shoot in honor of photographer Steven Meisel’s 67th birthday.
“This was my first bikini shoot ever and, boy, was I nervous,” wrote Hurley under a photo of her in a red two-piece swimsuit with white trim.
That photoshoot landed Hurley on the cover of Vogue for its May 1998 issue, but it wasn’t the only time that the famed photog shot Hurley in a similar suit: in January of 2020, Hurley posted a photo of herself in a yellow bikini with a white trim, also snapped by Meisel.
“Baby me for Vogue Magazine by Steven Meisel” she wrote under the photo.
Hurley seems to have gotten rid of the nerves surrounding bikini pics, and regularly posts bathing suit photos of herself on her social media where she models items from her beachwear collection, Elizabeth Hurley Beach.
She recently shared that the line is her reason for “prancing around in so many swimsuits.” In an interview with Extra TV, the star noted that she “wouldn’t ordinarily be prancing around in quite so much beachwear, so there is a reason behind prancing around in so many swimsuits.”
While Hurley gets a lot of compliments for her swimsuit snaps on social media, she shared that she has also received some backlash. “I think people are mean to women and I don’t think it’s how people should be,” she said, “so I can’t say I am a fan of those comments, really.”
