Okay, so there are rumblings that The Oscars are currently courting mega superstar singer performer (drum roll please) Beyoncé, who also happens to be nominated for Best Original Song, to be a part of the 94th Academy Awards.

The news on the internet is that Bey might be opening the show by serving up a virtual performance from a tennis court in Compton, CA, so says Variety.
As her nomination is for “Be Alive,” the theme from King Richard, which she also co-wrote, the location of said-to-be performance is set to be at Lueders Park courts. The tennis courts where Venus and Serena Williams spent their youth practicing relentless drills alongside their father, Richard, in order to become the sports legends they are today. In fact, the court was actually rebranded as the Venus and Serena Williams Court of Champions in 2016.
Normally and notoriously very secretive about anything and everything, Beyoncé has been and will most likely stay mum about any plans. So we’ll just have to satiate our curiosity with info from “sources close to the show.” Like, according to a source who spoke to Variety, Will Smith, who portrays Richard Williams in the film, might even make a cameo appearance during the performance. But also… who knows.
As has been done in the past, the Oscars musical performances are usually comprised of Best Original Song nominations, however no musical talent has yet to been announced for this years show.
Regardless, the nominated tunes that will also most likely be performed are — Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Dos Oruguitas,” from Encanto, Van Morrison with Belfast’s “Down to Joy,” Billie Eilish and FINNEAS with the No Time To Die 007 theme song, and Diane Warren’s “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days, sung by Reba McEntire.
Hosting the evenings festivities this year will be a trio of funny and talented ladies — Regina Hall, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer. The Oscars will air Sunday, March 27, at 8PM ET on ABC.
