Rumors of a Drake x Nike Air Force 1 collab have been swirling for quite some time. While leaks first emerged over a year ago, it wasn’t until this week that we actually got to see a first look at what could be an upcoming “Certified Lover Boy” Nike Air Force 1.
In celebration of his impending LP, the long-time Nike fan and partner is once again teaming up with the leading footwear brand for a very special, subtly adorned commemorative Air Force 1.
Okay, but are they fire or nah?
Tonally the kicks remain simple, building off the classic “Triple White” colorway. Along the midsole, the usual “AIR” text is replaced with elegant embossing, “Love You Forever,” spelled out in cursive, clearly an ode to the much anticipated album. Keeping up with the loved up theme, the typical stars along the lower toe and heel have been swapped out for hearts… and now ours our officially invested.
So to answer the question, our response is yes, and tbh it was never actually in question. The OG version of the shoe is already fire, so any added sprinkle of Drizzy Drake can only elevate the situation, and that’s not up for debate. Okay fine, the changes are subtle or whatever and lacking a bit of excitement - but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
So for now, get your fix and a quick look at the “Certified Lover Boy” Air Force 1 above, and as for when the shoe will be made available to the public - while there’s been no official word, the leak suggests that just like the album, a drop could be coming sooner than we think.
While those dates are still in question, one thing we know for sure is Drake’s “got more slaps than The Beatles.” So if it’s music you’re after, which we’ve kinda already established is why you’re here, you can listen to them and all our other favorite Pop songs with a dash of Hip Hop flavor including hits from Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Cardi B and Lil Nas X on Audacy’s Pop Hop exclusive station.
