Imagine Dragons have officially announced their return as they’re set to release their first new album since 2018 this September.
Coinciding with the album announcement, the band shared their new single “Wrecked,” which we'll be playing all day today on your favorite Audacy Alternative station as an Audacy World Premiere.

Imagine Dragons sent fans into a frenzy on Twitter earlier this week when they challenged their followers to guess the title of their upcoming fifth studio album. “If anyone guesses the album title tonight, we will announce it tomorrow,” the band wrote.
After some creative sleuthing, the band held good on their promise as they announced their fifth studio album Mercury - Act 1 is going to be released on September 3.
For a band that already sets its sights high in creating the biggest music possible, Dan Reynolds has said Mercury - Act 1 is no different. “This is our biggest record as far as length, but we took three years off, what do you expect? We wrote so much material during that time,” he previously told Audacy in an interview.
The band worked with the iconic producer Rick Rubin, who Reynolds admitted played a strong role in pushing their music to new heights. “By far my most honest record for better or for worse,” Reynolds said. “And Rick Rubin, who produced it, really pushed us to some uncomfortable places and I think that was important to go there.”
For Reynolds, that caused him to look inwards and directly confront any fears he had head on through music. “He pushed me to places that I typically would hide,” he said. “Especially when I started as an artist, I was really, overly metaphorical in all my lyrics because I was fearful of my parents, people I love, my wife, listening and getting their feelings hurt….Rick pushed me though, past that, to be more vulnerable lyrically, so the lyrics are more direct and that’s a scary thing.”
