Congratulations to Memphis radio legend and our morning show host, Ron Olson! Ron was inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame July 31, 2021 in Murphreesboro, TN as a member of the class of 2020 for making significant contributions to radio in Tennessee, not to mention thousands of laughs. Several family and friends, coworkers and his long time co-host Karen Perrin were in attendance.
Ron began his career in radio over 30 years ago and has been on Memphis airwaves on K-97, FM100 and now 104.5 The River. He has appeared on television, on the cover of magazines and on stage with the likes of Prince, Bon Jovi, Rob Thomas, Tony Bennett and Katy Perry to name a few. He has been a champion for charities big and small across the community and is always willing to speak to a class of students, play a round of golf for a good cause, and share a story you won't soon forget. The class of 2020 and 2021 induction ceremony was held over the weekend and in true Ron Olson fashion, he talked right up the ramp of the "you're going too long music" and brought the entire room to laughter.
Ron Olson and Karen Perrin host the morning show at 104.5 The River weekdays 6am to 10am. The staff of Audacy Memphis and everyone who knows Ron Olson, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Olson, wish him a well-deserved CONGRATULATIONS! To my mentor and friend, we're so proud of you!
