The Oregon State Beavers will go into this next spring camp with a bevy of questions at the quarterback position. Sophomore Chance Nolan is the presumed front runner, but his performance late in the 2021 season has many fans concerned he’s not up to the task. Tristan Gebbia is back from injury but there’s no telling if he can elevate the offense. One certainty for Oregon State is that 2023 four-star quarterback prospect, Brayden Dorman, will not be Corvallis bound.
After putting Oregon State near the of his list of schools following an official visit, the Colorado born QB chose Arizona instead.
Dorman would have been the biggest get during Smith’s tenure at OSU and immediately put them on the fast track to high offensive output potential. Many analysts and recruiting experts agree that Dorman could provide instant offense to any team. This being said, all hope is not lost for the Beavers and their quarterback future.
Tristan Gebbia is making a return from injury and should be a veteran, stabilizing force for a squad that will need help on the offensive line. There’s also the possibility recent portal entry, Jayden Daniels, will decide Corvallis is the place to be… Stranger things have happened!
Either way, the Beavers have made incremental improvements in recruiting over the past few years and this looks like only a hiccup. A lost opportunity, but a hiccup nonetheless.
