Cubs president Jed Hoyer has reportedly narrowed his search for a general manager.
Hoyer is now focusing on four candidates, according to Sahadev Sharma and Patrick Mooney of The Athletic.

Among the four hopefuls under consideration are two Cleveland executives, the report said.
Indians assistant GM Carter Hawkins and VP of player development James Harris are two key figures in what is widely regarded as a savvy, forward-thinking Indians organization, the report said.
In recent years, Hawkins and Harris have helped keep Cleveland competitive, with particular success in developing pitchers, despite salary constraints and regular roster turnover.
Other candidates included Rays VP of player development Carlos Rodriguez and Twins assistant GM Jeremy Zoll, according to the report.
The Cubs' GM position has been vacant for the better part of a year, following Theo Epstein's departure and Hoye's promotion to president last November.
The team slumped to 91 losses in 2021, and, in the process, offloaded several veteran stars on the verge of free agency.
The next GM will be tasked with rebuilding the team back into a winner following the departures of Kris Byrant, Anthony Rizzo, and Javier Baez.
