Drew Robinson - who returned to professional baseball after a failed suicide attempt cost him his right eye - announced Friday that he's retiring from professional baseball.

In February, ESPN's Jeff Passan penned an incredible piece detailing Robinson's suicide attempt in April of 2020 and his attempt at a comeback in the sport.

A fourth-round pick of the Texas Rangers in the 2010 MLB Draft, Robinson succeeded in his comeback. A veteran of both the Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals, Robinson played in 35 games for the Giants Triple-A affiliate - the Sacremento River Cats - and homered three times.
