Wednesday's Mets-Cardinals game featured a little bit of everything, including a benches-clearing incident after a retaliatory brushback pitch.

Extracurriculars aside, there were also some exciting plays in a game in which both teams had a rally of at least four runs.

One of those moments came in the top of the sixth inning, when Cardinals center fielder Dylan Carlson gunned down the Mets' Luis Guillorme on the basepaths.

Carlson seemed to take a circuitous route on Guillorme's deep fly to straightaway center. The ball land on the warning track and skipped off the wall, bouncing back toward the infield. Carlson recovered, though, gathering the ball and unleashing a spectacular throw to third baseman Edmundo Sosa, who tagged out Guillorme trying to stretch a double into a triple.

Carlson's laser beam was said to have been clocked at over 97 mph.

The play was a hit on social media, where one user called it a candidate for "throw of the year." Others saw similarities with former Cardinals pitcher-turned-outfielder Rick Ankiel, who had more than a couple memorable putouts of his own.
