PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – For as great as Ke’Bryan Hayes has been in his first 31 MLB games, the rookie made an all-time mistake Tuesday night at PNC Park.

Watching his ball sneak over the Clemente wall and inside the right field foul pole, Ke’Bryan Hayes rounded first base as the fireworks went off and stepped on home as the Bucs took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning against the Dodgers.

... or did they? As it turns out, the Pirates' brightest prospect and one of few reasons to come out to the games made a grievous error. Hayes, the son of a Major Leaguer, didn’t touch first. He completely missed it as he was rounding the bases.

Last month, since-demoted first baseman Will Craig didn’t step on first base leading to a comedy of errors and a couple of runs scored for the other team. Now, your star player misses first base and costs his own team.

It’s early June, but in many ways it's already a season for forget for Pirates fans.
