In case you haven’t noticed due to the enormous amount of football news dropping in the past month, the Portland Trail Blazers are a complete mess right now. It seems like each day brings a new drama and disappointment into the fold that was unimaginable just two years prior. Damian Lillard remains off the court due abdominal issues and has been the center of trade rumors that suggest a new general manager would like to move on from Dame if hired. Speaking of general managers…
Portland finally decided to relieve Neil Olshey of his duties after his inability to part with C-J McCollum via trade became too glaring (Also, losing to the Spurs by 30 + doesn’t help). There are also reported tensions between head coach Chauncey Billups and the players over his coaching style. The entire situation was made even worse after Tuesday’s news that CJ McCollum would be out for the foreseeable future with a collapsed lung.
None of it is positive…
After a recent report from Adrian Wojnaroski that the franchise would consider denying him an extension in the next year, he fired back on Twitter with a post that suggests former GM Neil Olshey was feeding the information to Woj. In the past, Lillard has been vocal and direct about his needs surrounding the team, but never to the point of insult.
No matter your political beliefs, I’m sure you can garner the reference from this post…
There’s no denying that a major shakeup is coming to this organization. It’s a question of when it happens, and who will be left standing to witness the possible end of the Damian Lillard era.
