Will UCLA be Oregon's Toughest Test to Date?
The #15 Ducks host the #23 Bruins on October 10th
The 15th ranked Oregon Ducks appear to be back on the right track following a 41-27 win at #18 USC on September 26 in the LA Coliseum. With a bye this week, the Ducks will next take the field on October 10, when the 23rd ranked UCLA Bruins head to Autzen Stadium. The game will be, yet another ranked opponent on the Oregon schedule as the Week 5 AP Top 25 rankings in college football features four of the Ducks five opponents of the season: Week 1 - Boise State, 22; Week 2 - Oklahoma State, 19; Week 4 - USC, 28. The lone opponent unranked to this point is FCS Portland State which came to Eugene in Week 3.
Not only is UCLA a familiar foe from the former Pac-12, but the 2026 Bruins also bring a host of coaches and players from Oregon's opening round opponent in last year's College Football Playoff, James Madison University, as many followed head coach Bob Chesney across the country this season. Ducks coach Dan Lanning, had high praise for this year's UCLA squad, going as far to say the Bruins remind him of another team led by a former JMU coach; the 2025 National Champion Indiana Hoosiers.
