Taking to social media to share, Cardi posted a screenshot of a typed iPhone note that read, "I am so sad to share this news, but l've been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I wont be able to perform at ONE MusicFest.”
Not disclosing any further details about the reason for the hospitalization, Cardi continued, expressing her profound regret over the cancellation. ”It breaks my heart that I won't get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there.” Adding, "Thank you for understanding and I'll be back better and stronger soon. Don't worry. Love yall.”
Following Cardi’s message, ONE MusicFest showed support for the rapper and her decision to opt out of the show, resharing her post to the festival’s Instagram, adding a short statement in the caption, that advised followers to “keep her in our prayers for a full recovery!,” and assured “we are working hard to find a replacement at this late date.”
Cardi was set to headline the Atlanta-based festival alongside Gunna, Jill Scott, Victoria Monét, Nelly and Earth, Wind & Fire. The lineup for the two-day event, taking place at Piedmont Park on October 26 and 27, also features Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Keyshia Cole, TI, Dru Hill, Ari Lennox, Method Man, BossMan DLow, Redman, Fridayy, Youngbloodz, and more.
