Joking around about how there have been previous movies with a criminally inclined Black Santa Claus, Ludacris stressed the importance the representation of a Black Santa in their movie is “acclimated to the modern world, which makes this a completely different story.”

He continued, “like this particular Santa Claus has a iPad for his naughty and nice list, he uses an iPhone… has keys for his sleigh.” Luda also went on to note, "it’s a family movie, it’s a comedy,” before listing off the impressive list of those involved, including Teyonah Parris, Lil Rel Howery, and more.

“It’s an amazing family movie," Will Packer went on to add. “it’s very very cool to see a next generation of kids that will be able to watch a movie that’s just normalized. That folks that look like them are doing these fun amazing things. You got Santa Claus, and reindeer, and magic… it’s Disney, so we go there.”

After sharing a bit of the synopsis, Luda went on to discuss the hopeful impact the movie will have, and that “it becomes a staple.”

“Like Will said, this is something, like once you realize how great it is, you can watch it every single holiday, that’s what we wanna do. We wanna be etched in Christmas minds for the rest of our lives,” Ludacris said. "It’s shot in Atlanta, so that’s something different as well… and this is new for Disney, you don’t usually see things like this." Commending Packer and Story, “these two individuals that come up with a concept and an idea and bring it to life. And I think a lot of people are gonna be very thankful that they took the initiative to actually make this happen.”
