On a new episode of Most Requested Live, Tiësto joins Bennett to talk all about writing his recent banger "10:35" with Tate McRae for a club in Dubai, what being a dad and going on tour looks like now, and more.
Thankful for “all the support” the single has gained, Tiësto shared how “10:35” came about. “The song came together because I wanted to write a song for a new resort in Dubai. They approached me to make a special song for them. And then we wrote the song '10:35' with Ryan Tedder as well on board, who’s also not a stranger to writing hit songs… And then I’ve always been a fan of Tate. I love her music, great personality, high energy, beautiful voice. So we approached her and she was on board, and together we finished the song, and boom — a hit.”
After delving into his collaboration wish list, which includes Miley Cyrus and so many others, some of which are not necessarily famous, but just “have a great voice,” Tiësto got into what its like balancing bangers with parenting while on tour.
“I’m a DJ touring, but its not all the time anymore,” Tiësto admitted. Since becoming a parent the EDM hitmaker has had to shift around his schedule to make time for his kids. “I really pace myself. We were just in Malibu for five days, then I play a show in Vegas, then I have another five days off. So I really try to be there for the kids and not be just touring… We’re still finding the balance, but I think for the most I seem to get it right, and in the future, in a couple of years, they can come on the road with me, so that’ll be fun.”
