ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan/AP) - Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Allen Hurns exited Saturday's wild-card game against the Seattle Seahawks with a grusome injury to his left ankle.

Hurns was injured on a 3rd and 7 play when quarterback Dak Prescott connected with him for a 14-yard gain and a first down. Hurns' foot appeared to caught up underneath Seahawks safety Bradley Mcdougald as he made the tackle, sending Hurns down in a heap.

The AT&T Stadium crowd gave Hurns a loud cheer as he raised his arm as he was being carted off the field.

After the game, head coach Jason Garrett wouldn't get into specifics but said Hurns suffered a significant lower leg injury.

"Not a good situation for Allen. It's a serious injury that he has," Garrett said. The guys on our team care so much about each other. And it's not easy, but you have to get back to work. Allen's in good hands and will come back and play lots of football for us."

The Cowboys signed Hurns as a free agent in the offseason after waiving franchise career touchdown catches leader Dez Bryant in a cost-cutting move. With the catch against the Seahawks, Hurns had 21 catches for 309 yards with two touchdowns this season.

Hurns became the third Cowboy to be taken to a hospital in the last three games (Su'a-Filo, Tyrone Crawford).
