January 18, 2019 Hurns once said Linehan's decisions, during a game against the Texans, was "the worst play call you can make against that coverage."
Former Cowboys WR and current 105.3 The Fan host Jesse Holley tweeted
Ok, Scott Linehan is fired!!!My question is to you all now is this..............How Will You Feel IF Jason Doesn’t Hire A New OC But Becomes The New OC Himself????

January 18, 2019 The Fan host Ben Rogers tweeted
Sounds like Linehan was far too sensitive/defensive for the job. In addition, too often, he pigeon-holed guys. Also didn't scheme around his most favorable match ups enough. Didn't like audibles out of his plays. Kept running into stacked boxes. This is a joyous day in Cowboyland
