ATLANTA (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks have aqcuired Kristaps Porzingis in a trade with the New York Knicks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Mavericks have agreed to take on the contracts of Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee to faciliate a Porzingis trade and are working to complete the transaction today, league sources say

According to multiple reports, the Mavs will send Dennis Smith Jr., DeAndre Jordan, Wesley Matthews and two future first-round pick to the Knicks in the deal. Dallas will acquire point guard Tim Hardaway Jr., point guard Trey Burke, and shooting guard Courtney Lee in the trade.
Ian Begley of ESPN reports the two first-rounders Dallas will convey to the Knicks will be an unprotected pick in 2021 and a top-10 protected pick in 2023.

He was the No. 4 pick in the 2015 draft and once was expected to be the Knicks' franchise player for years. But they declined to give him a contract extension last summer, and now by trading him and Hardaway seem instead to be gearing up to pursue players in free agency.

Wojnarowski reports that Porzingis has yet to make a decision on his future with Dallas as he starts the process of getting to know the organization. Charania is reporting that Porzingis is planning to sign the around $8 million qualifying offer so he can become an unrestricted free agent after next season. ESPN's Tim MacMahon adds that Porzingis "loves Luka and Dirk" and the Mavs are planning to sign him to a long-term deal this summer.
