Monday Ian Rapoport reported that some thought Elliott might hold out until he received a new contract from the Cowboys, however, he has been participating in the team's offseason programs.
There was some thought that #Cowboys star RB Ezekiel Elliott would stay away as he waits for the team to focus on his contract extension. But Elliott will be there today, source said, for offseason conditioning. He's kept it status quo.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 15, 2019Elliott is headed into the fourth year of his rookie deal and it appears the team plans on optioning the running back for a fifth season. Dallas could also place the franchise tag on him in 2021.
In an interview with 105.3 The Fan after the season ended, Jerry Jones was asked whether Elliott would be a Cowboy for the "foreseeable future?"
"Do we want Zeke in the foreseeable future on the Dallas Cowboys? The answer is yes," Jones told Shan and RJ. "That'd be madness to think any differently."
