Houston's downpours were so heavy that it rained last night inside Minute Maid Park...with the roof closed!
With the Rangers opening a four-game series in Houston, the rain was falling in sheets around southeast Texas.
By the 7th inning, the rain was coming down inside the stadium.
It was most noticeable in the right field upper deck where scores of fans had to scramble to avoid getting soaked.
The Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan says water can enter the building when the winds are especially high, sending sheets of rain horizontally through openings in the roof.
It's happened before but Ryan says last night was the worst he's seen it in his six years with the club.
