DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) – For the fourth time this season, Luka Dončić was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month, the NBA announced Friday.

He becomes the first Mavericks' rookie to win the award four times, passing Jay Vincent whom he was previously tied with.

Dončić, who turned 20 years old Thursday, averaged team highs of 24.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game in eight games (all starts) in February. He scored 18-plus points in all eight games, including 20-plus points six times and 35 points once. He also recorded six double-doubles and two triple-doubles during the month.

Among rookies, Luka ranks first in scoring (18.5 ppg), fourth in rebounding (6.5 rpg), second in assists (4.3 apg) and second in steals (1.1 spg).

Dončić became the first rookie since Karl-Anthony Towns to win the award in each of the first four months of the season. Towns went on to win the award all six months and was named Rookie of the Year.

Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young, whom Atlanta selected with the No. 5 overall pick after a trade with the Mavericks on draft night, was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month.
