Randolph wasn't expected to appear in a game for Dallas after he had already sat out the entire season to allow the Kings to play their young players.
The 37-year-old will now have the opportunity to sign with a team in the playoff race.
Dallas received Randolph and sophomore forward Justin Jackson in exchange for Harrison Barnes.
