DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - In the second draft pick overall, the Kansas City Royals have selected Bobby Witt Jr.

Witt, who is the son of former Texas Ranger and fellow top three draft pick Bobby Witt Sr., comes from Colleyville Heritage High School.

Witt was named Gatorade’s National High School Player of the Year for hitting .489 with 15 home runs this year, bringing Colleyville to their first ever state tournament.

Witt was committed to the University of Oklahoma prior to being drafted.
