DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Amari Cooper has only been a Dallas Cowboy for just over eight months but that's enough time for him to see how special Dak Prescott is.
In an appearance this morning on ESPN's First Take, Cooper spoke glowingly about Prescott and said he deserves a big contract extension.
"Most quarterbacks don't have the best bodies or probably don't care much about the weight room because they're more on the cerebel side of the game, but this guy takes every rep serious and I think that's a big part of who he is. He's just a competitor and he wants to do everything the right way," Cooper said. "I haven't played with too many guys like Dak Prescott, so I definitely think he's got everything coming to him and he definitely deserves to be paid amongst the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league."
That's high praise from Cooper, who's looking to get a new contract of his own this offseason. But should he be the highest paid receiver in the league?
"I'm not now. I'm definitely looking forward to earning that respect and definitely looking forward to coming into this year and putting up those numbers for my team and really showing what I can do in a full season as a Dallas Cowboy. I know that I have the skill set to be one of the highest-paid receivers. I'm just all about going out there and proving it."
Cooper later went on with the Dan Patrick Show and said he's "not watching Michael Thomas' (New Orleans Saints receiver) pockets," and believes "everything is gonna fall into place when it needs to."
Thomas and Atlanta's Julio Jones, two of the other top receivers in the game are also looking for a big payday this offseason.
Thomas is reportedly seeking $22 million per year.
