Chris Woodward 'Proud' Of Rougned Odor's Recent Play

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Rangers manager Chris Woodward joined the GBAG Nation Wednesday ahead of the club's series finale against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

In the discussion, Woodward was asked about Rougned Odor's recent hot streak:

"I'm proud of him. He's withstood some criticism. He knows. I'm sure he feels it. He wants to be successful. I think it just came down to he needed some results and he's been taking better swings the last month. But, even before that, I felt he was on the right path.

"I think he just needed our support through it, but we challenged him to be better. We don't want to see him hit .180 for three months, nobody does. We want him to be doing what he's doing right now and just be more consistent with his swings. Now, he's gotten to the point where his swing feels so good that he can go up there an attack pitches. When he is controlling the strike zone, but at the same time being aggressive, which is the hardest things to do in the game, then he's obviously very dangerous. And you can see by the results lately that he's been one of our best hitters."
