Both players had surgery in recent months leading up to training camp, with Poe undergoing a procedure on his quadriceps, while Crawford endured double hip surgery dating back to the last offseason.

Poe, who signed as a free agent with the Cowboys this offseason, played in 11 games with the Carolina Panthers, starting 10 of the games, and finishing with 22 total tackles with four sacks.

Crawford meanwhile, played in just four games with Dallas last season, ending his 2019 campaign with one sack and three total tackles.

Per the report from Archer, the Cowboys will not have their first scheduled practice in pads until the middle of August, giving the players ample time to rehab in hopes of returning to the field.

Dallas also recently lost veteran defensive back, Maurice Canady, for the 2020 season, after he opted out of play due to the concern from the COVID-19 pandemic.
