DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Leighton Vander Esch is coming off a 2019 season that ended prematurely with a neck injury and then a surgery but the Dallas Cowboys' budding star at linebacker said Thursday he's healthy and ready for 2020.
"I feel amazing,'' said Vander Esch in a conference call with the media. "That's all behind me. I'm not worried about my neck any more."
Vander Esch's outlook was echoed by the team earlier this offseason.
"The feedback is good,'' Stephen Jones said at the NFL Scouting Combine. Jerry Jones followed up those comments by saying that Vander Esch is "100 percent in my eyes."
Later in the offseason, Vander Esch said on "The Boys and Girl Podcast'' that he was "ready to roll."
"I've been training full-go for a couple of months now, so it's not holding me back whatsoever. ... I'm just excited to play football at this point and get back on the field," he said in May.
So, it's not surprising to see Vander Esch is feeling good about the upcoming season as we hit training camp.
