DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Per a report from NFL.com's Jane Slater, The Dallas Cowboys have decided not to retain wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal, who had held the position since the 2018 season.

#Cowboys WR Coach Sanjay Lal tells me he has indeed been let go. Disappointed he tells me he is proud of what his receivers accomplished this season. Amari Cooper career highs in touchdowns and receiving yards Michael Gallup, a 1a Receiver in his second year & over 1000 yards 1/2

Lal helped guide a Cowboys passing attack that finished second in the NFL at 296.9 yards per game and converted 30 touchdowns in 2019.

Lal was instrumental in the resurgence of both Randall Cobb, who came to the Cowboys as a free agent last offseason, as well as Amari Cooper, who re-established himself as one of the best wideouts in the NFL after coming to Dallas via trade from the Oakland Raiders.

He also was critical in the development of second-year wideout Michael Gallup who finished the year with 66 catches on 113 targets for  1,107 yards and six touchdowns.

There is no word as of yet on his replacement.
