The Cowboys re-signed Forbath after the 2019 season after he went 10-for-10 kicking field goals in three games with the Cowboys after they cut Brett Maher.
They'll now turn to Greg Zuerlein, whom they signed to a three-year, $7.5 million deal this offseason.
Known for having one of the strongest legs in the league, Zuerlein comes to Dallas as an 82-percent kicker for his career, hitting 201 out of 245 attempts over the last eight seasons, with a long of 61 yards.
He is also 264-of-270 for his career on extra-point attempts and has a 66.5-percent touchback percentage.
Zuerlein is now reunited with his former special teams' coach, John Fassel, who came over from the Rams to join Mike McCarthy's staff following last season.
