DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up the 2020 NFL Draft by selecting James Madison quarterback Ben DiNucci with the 231st overall pick.
DiNucci, a Wexford, Pennsylvania native, was an American Football Coaches Association first-team All-American and the Colonial Athletic Association's Offensive Player of the Year in 2019, and led James Madison to the FCS National Championship game.
He started all 16 games as a redshirt senior, throwing for 3,441 yards, 29 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also rushed for 569 yards and seven touchdowns. DiNucci led the FCS with a 70.9% completion percentage and ranked second in pass efficiency (169.5).
"I'm an accurate quarterback. If the pocket breaks down I can use my legs and use some athleticism to do some things that might present challenges for defenses. I'm gonna put my head down and go to work," DiNucci said to the media after his selection.
Prior to joining James Madison in 2018, DiNucci spent three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh.
