He was awarded the Morris Trophy award last season, which is given to the best defensive lineman in the conference. He was also a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award, the honor given to the nation's best defensive lineman.
"I'm just a playmaker overall," Anae told 105.3 the Fan following his selection. "My strong suits would probably be my work ethic and my ability to make plays, be productive."
Anae compiled school-best 30 career sacks in his four years with the Utes. He had 13 sacks and 30 solo tackles in 2019.
