January 23, 2019 DALLAS (AP/105.3 The Fan) - The Mavs will be rejoined by guard Dennis Smith Jr. on Tuesday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
Smith didn't play Monday, his sixth consecutive game missed and the 16th time he hasn't played in Dallas' last 24 contests.
Smith and Carlisle spoke Sunday, and from there it was revealed that Smith, who has been a rumored trade possibility, will resume workouts.
Both Carlisle and Smith released statements Sunday regarding the point guard's return.
Statement from Rick Carlisle: “I am excited to announce Dennis Smith Jr. will rejoin the team on Tuesday. Dennis and I spoke at length today. He is feeling better and plans to resume workouts in preparation for his return. There will be no further updates until Tuesday.”
