DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Barring an unforeseen circumstance, Dirk Nowitzki will not be participating in his 14th All-Star game. So the NBA decided to give him another opportunity to be honored at All-Star Weekend.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Nowitzki has been invited to compete in the 3-point contest at All-Saturday Night in Charlotte.

It will be Nowitzki's sixth career entry into the Long Distance Shootout ... in his 21st (and possibly last) season. The lifelong Dallas Maverick won the 3-point crown in 2006.
