"Earlier today, I met with the Commisioner to share withhim what occurred in Las Vegas and what I have learned from the incident. I've worked hard to make better decisions and to live up to the high standards that are expected of me," Elliott said.

"I failed to that here and I made a poor decision. I apologized to Kyle Johnson at the time and I meant it.

"I need to work harder to ensure I do not put myself in compromised situations in the future. I am rededicating myself to use all of the resources that the league has made available. But in the end, it is up to me and I am determined not to be in this position again."

Elliott met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the incident in Las Vegas where Elliott was handcuffed and detained by police after allegedly pushing a security guard at a music festival in May.

Even though Elliott was not charged with a crime, he could be penalized under the NFL's personal conduct policy. 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher says Elliott could be facing a short suspension.

People in Ezekiel Elliott’s corner had hoped for just a fine. But Article 46 allows ... anything. #Cowboys Probably have to feel good if this is a one- or two-game ban. pic.twitter.com/RXTYo6aQnm

From the May 2019 incident: TMZ reported that Elliott was spotted in the parking lot at the Electric Daisy Carnival around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning arguing with a woman described as his girlfriend. In the video obtained by TMZ, Elliott never put his hands on the woman.

A few minutes later, Elliott and the woman were seen speaking with event staffers when Elliott confronted one of them and said, "you got something to say!?"

Zeke can be seen using his body to push the security guard backward until the staffer fell into a metal gate. Elliott then threw up his hands and said, "I didn't do anything!"

Security, along with Las Vegas police, came over and put Elliott in handcuffs and took him away from the scene.

Frank Salzano, the attorney for Elliott, says the whole ordeal was blown out of proportion and that the couple was just having a normal discussion when security intervened.

"Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation," Salzano told TMZ Sports.
